Pagosa Springs Bark Beetles and Watersheds Open House and Community Meeting

Wednesday April 9, 2013, 6:00 to 7:30. Ross Aragon Community Center, 451 Hotsprings Blvd., Pagosa Springs, CO. Please join the San Juan Headwaters Forest Health Partnership and Firewise Communities of Southwest Colorado (Firewise) for an open house and presentation by Western Water Assessment (WWA). This community meeting will explore the water-related impacts of bark beetle infestations in the San Juans and the Rocky Mountain West. 

 

The goals of this meeting:

·         Share what scientists know and don’t know about the potential water impacts from bark beetle infestations in lodgepole and spruce-fir forests

·         Share observations and concerns from community members and local professionals about the current spruce beetle infestation in the San Juan headwaters

·         Learn about San Juan Headwaters Forest Health Partnership (previously Mixed Conifer Working Group) and Firewise of Southwest Colorado, upcoming events and opportunities
