Growth Through Fire: Hermosa Resiliency Celebration

Join Mountain Studies Institute for a fun hour of celebrating Hermosa's resiliency to the 416 Fire. We have something for the whole family! The adults (and kids if they choose!) can take a hike up into the burn area to learn about the fire, recovery process and throw seedballs. Kids (ages 5 and up) can attend our "Wildfire Camp" where they will move through interactive stations with games and fun fire lessons.

Register for either 9:30-10:45am or 11:00-12:15pm. Each session will be an hour and fifteen minutes.

Please bring good hiking shoes, a hat, water, sunscreen, snacks, and a face covering for all participants, unless they have underlying health conditions which prevent them from wearing one. We will observe social distancing regulations.

The seedball hikes and wildfire camps will occur at the same time, so you can choose either 9:30am or 11:00am. Please meet at the Lower Hermosa Trailhead near the bathrooms promptly at your start time. The wildfire camps will occur at the trailhead.

If you have any questions, please contact event coordinator Kelly Northcutt (kelly@mountainstudies.org)
