MSI invites you to be a part of a very special fen restoration project. Fens are a unique and ancient wetland ecosystem that is globally rare. They also store carbon, filter pollutants from water, and are important for supporting biodiversity, and sequestering carbon.
The Ophir Fen is located in a very scenic spot, just outside of Silverton. MSI has been working to restore this Fen to its original state. Every summer new sedge grasses are planted. On August 26th, you will have an opportunity to be an alpine gardener for the day assisting in planting and other duties.
