Russian Olive Removal for Watershed Health

Russian Olive Removal and Restoration of the Animas Watershed will be the next topic in a free series of talks on April 24, Tuesday evening at 6:30, at the Animas Valley Grange Hall, 7271 County Road 203 just north of Durango.  This topic will be presented by Amanda Kuenzi who is the Community Science Director of the Mountain Studies Institute.  She will talk about a grant- funded project to remove Russian Olive trees from Bakers Bridge to the New Mexico line.  Amanda leads MSI’s programs for citizen science and ecology field projects.

 

The Grange is sponsoring a series of informative talks by various local experts, and the talks will occur once each month.  Refreshments will be provided.
