San Juan Resilience Youth Summit

  • Mountain Studies Institute San Juan Mountains Silverton & Durango, Colorado (map)

The San Juan Resilience Youth Summit (SJRYS) provides students an opportunity to share their work with and learn from an authentic audience of peers, natural resource professionals, and community leaders. The theme of this year’s summit will be Resilience.

Students are invited to join the Summit as presenters or participants at Fort Lewis College. Teachers are invited to get their whole class involved, just email Brookelynn at brooke@mountainstudies.org, and with any additional questions as well.

Students Participation Options:

  • Attend as a Participant (no project needed)

  • Prepare a presentation (5 minute max + 5 minutes for Q&A) for a breakout-room audience. Presentations can be powerpoint, poster, video, podcast, a skit or song, etc. We encourage students to get creative in how they present their work.

  • Present their work in poster format to a circulating audience in an unstructured, conversational format. To learn more about the event and to register, click HERE.
