We will be joining the San Juan National Forest to pull weeds in the Weminuche Wilderness at the Boy Scout Meadow, along the Pine River Trail.
Bring lunch, water, snacks, sturdy footwear, and appropriate layers. Bring your own gloves although there may be some there provided by the Forest Service.
Schedule:
8:00 am – Meet at the Pine River Trailhead (it’s about a 1-hour drive from Durango)
8:15 – 9:30 – 3-mile hike to Boy Scout Meadow. The gradual trail to this point.
9:30 – 9:45 – review procedure, what to clip, what to leave, pack out the procedure for weeds
9:45 – 12:45 – Pull and clip weeds, snack/lunch when needed
12:45 – 2:00 – Hike out (3 miles)
Return to Durango, approx. 3:00 pm
