12:00 - 12:30: A discussion with Ellen Shaw, Deputy Director for the USFS National Partership Office in Washington DC

Ellen is filling in as Pagosa District Ranger.  Ellen has worked as an environmental policy analyst for the U.S. Department of
State and in tropical–forest-conservation and wildlife-trafficking partnerships with countries and stakeholders in several continents.

Originally from Oregon, Ellen served as a Peace Corps volunteer in West Africa, working in agroforestry, agriculture, and health. Her professional career also includes work for private-sector consulting firms in energy, tourism and conservation.
