Join MSI and ECI for a day of hands-on engagement and discussion at Hott Wings Ranch!
Students will assist with real ranch processes such as cattle weaning and shots. We will also take time to explore and discuss the following topics: How does ranching interact with natural systems and resources in the region? How might scientists and agricultural communities collaborate to learn from and support one another?
Please bring boots, rain clothes, layers, and a water bottle. Transportation from Durango and lunch provided. Students will meet at Fort Lewis College at 8:30 a.m. for transport to Ignacio, and should plan on transport back to FLC at 1:45 p.m. If you are planning to meet us at Hott Wings Ranch, please arrive at 9:15 am at 6675 State Highway 151, Ignacio and plan to depart at 1pm.
Registration is closed. However, if you still want to join the field trip please email Artemis at artemis@mountianstudies.org to discuss options.
