2025 San Juan Resilience Youth Summit

Middle and High School students from around the San Juans come together each spring to share their projects and research related to environmental resilience. An authentic audience of peers and community members can choose from several breakout rooms of presentations and talk to students presenters during a poster symposium. After lunch students choose from a menu of on-campus activities to learn more about higher education at Fort Lewis College.

Students are invited to join the Summit as presenters or participants. Teachers are invited to get their whole class involved. Email Jewell@mountainstudies.org with any questions.

Student Participation Options:

Attend as a Participant (no project needed)
Prepare a presentation (5 minute max + 5 minutes for Q&A) for a breakout-room audience. Presentations can be powerpoint, poster, video, podcast, a skit or song, etc. We encourage students to get creative in how they present their work.
Present their work in poster format to a circulating audience in an unstructured, conversational format.
