DeAnne Gallegos is the current Executive Director of Visit Silverton and the Silverton Chamber of Commerce. DeAnne serves on the board of San Juan Development Association, Ironhorse Bicycle Classic, Silverton Farmers Market and Mountain Studies Institute and over the last ten years has been the Public Information Officer for San Juan County, Colorado’s Office of Emergency Management. DeAnne has served on dozens of committees and boards supporting her community’s economic development, community visioning, marketing, and branding projects over the last ten years.
In her community, DeAnne is highly respected as a leader, communication expert, public relations expert and strategic development partner by businesses, citizens, and government organizations across the SW/4 Corners region. DeAnne recently served on the leadership team of the adopted Town of Silverton Master Plan and teaches public relations, marketing, and crisis communication courses throughout the country. DeAnne is a graduate of University Colorado - Boulder and has certifications in crisis communication, public relations, media relations and is a FEMA certified Public Information Officer. DeAnne is a 6th generation Southwest Colorado family (Silverton & Durango area) who arrived in the San Luis Valley in 1776. DeAnne loves living in the heart of the San Juan Mountains, hiking throughout them with her dogs no matter the season.
